Stories, poems or artwork that we like may be rejected for any number of reasons—including but not limited to:
1. Failing to meet our listed criteria
2. Feeling too familiar to material previously published
3. Simply not fitting well with the character of this magazine

About the Mag
Ascended Realms Magazine: a non-profit monthly online magazine showcasing short fantasy fiction by unknown, rising or struggling writers from around the world. The magazine leans more towards literary writing, but even pulp fiction might be accepted if it is well written. We are competing with well-financed, well-advertised ezines, and therefore we publish stories that stand out in originality and inspiring themes. Each story is taken on its own merit, but if it strays too much from the artistic, experimental and soul-deep feel of our magazine it may be rejected. we are looking for passion, daring and depth in the submissions.
Artists, Article Writers and Editors
We are also looking for visual artists, article writers and editors. If you feel that you are qualifed and have the time and interest to fulfill the role of an editor or article writing, please let us know here! We are looking for artists to illustrate covers for short stories, but will also consider independent artworks. Either way, if you have some artwork that you would like to show us please do so here!
Poetry
A small amount of quality poetry will be published in our magazine. Please submit 4-6 poems for consideration at the bottom of the page. Please include your name, general location, and contact information (your e-mail at least.)
Legal Note
We only claim first publishing rights, whether you are a writer or an artist. Your work is your own, but if you agree to publish it here then you are agreeing that it hasn’t been published elsewhere—we are only interested in publishing original works! Legal action will be taken if you publish someone else’s work here as your own. If your story is accepted, we ask that you do not publish it elsewhere for another six months after the date of publication.
